Museum of Science receives its largest gift.

Michael Bloomberg, a native of Medford and the former mayor of New York City, donates $50 million from his Bloomberg Philanthropies in the name of his parents. The donation, equal to 40% of the museum’s current endowment, is to be used to support educational programs. Bloomberg attended educational classes at the museum beginning at approximately age 10.
